Emergency & exit lighting testing and preventative maintenance

Australian Standard AS/NZS 2293.2 states, “that the emergency lighting installation be tested at six-monthly intervals by a discharge test to see that the fittings operate for the required duration of not less than 90 minutes.” With the QLD Development Code MP6.1 (Mandatory Point 6.1) this is made a legal requirement for all buildings.

Celtic Security Services are specialists when it comes to emergency and exit light testing, system maintenance and compliance. We can set up a 6 monthly schedule that will keep your system operational, protecting your business and fulfilling the legal and insurance requirements.

Emergency & exit Lighting 90 minute discharge testing

The following describes what is required to test the system.
1
Exit Light Lamp Test | Celtic Security Services

Prior to testing, our technicians visually inspect all fluorescent  lights for darkened signs of aging or damage and replace where necessary. LED fittings are checked for LED strip illumination.

We then simulate a power failure by performing a discharge test for a period of 90 minutes as per AS2293. During this period all lamps are checked for illumination for a period of 90 minutes.
